“Do not conform to the pattern of this world” (Romans 12:2). Where is the root of life? In what kind of soil are we planted? Is it in the shifting values of this world, or in the eternal and unchanging foundation found in God? Roots draw nourishment and water, yet not all soil allows life to flourish. On one side lies the pull to conform to the world; on the other, the call to be deeply rooted in the wellspring of truth and love. Just as a tree’s fruit reveals the health of its root, so our lives reflect where we are planted. Where will you choose to let the roots of your life grow, and what kind of fruit will you bear?
